Born to Build Carpentry and Construction Services Pty Ltd (ABN 67 654 664 838, "we", "us", "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

When you contact us through the website, by phone, by email, or in person, we may collect:

• Your phone number and email address
• The suburb or address of your proposed build
• Details about your project — bedrooms, target start date, budget, written notes
• Any documents or images you choose to send us (plans, photos, council correspondence)
• Technical data automatically collected by your browser when you visit our website (IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring site)

How we use it

We use your personal information solely to:

• Respond to your enquiry and arrange a site visit or quote
• Prepare and deliver building services if you proceed to a contract
• Communicate with you about your project, schedule, invoices, and warranty
• Comply with our legal obligations under NSW Home Building Act 1989, the Australian Tax Office, and other applicable law
• Improve our website and services

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing.

Who we share it with

To deliver our services we may share necessary information with:

• Suppliers, sub-trades, and certifiers directly involved in your project (only the information they need to do their part)
• Your nominated draftsman or designer if relevant to the build
• NSW councils, certifiers, and regulators where required by the Complying Development or Development Application process
• Our accountant and the Australian Tax Office for invoicing and tax compliance
• Our IT and infrastructure providers (Cloudflare, Microsoft 365) who host the website and emails. These providers act as data processors under their own privacy commitments

We require all third parties to use your information only for the purpose we share it for.

How we store it

Lead form submissions are stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure within the Asia-Pacific region. Internal business records are stored on Microsoft 365 (Australian data centres) and on encrypted local storage. Access to your data is limited to authorised staff. We retain project records for 7 years after project completion in line with NSW building licensing and tax obligations, then securely delete them.

Cookies and analytics

The website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is a privacy-friendly analytics tool. It does not use cookies, does not track you across other websites, and does not collect personal information. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other tracking tool that profiles individual visitors.

The website does set a single technical cookie or local-storage entry to remember whether you have dismissed the under-construction banner. That data never leaves your browser.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act you have the right to:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you
• Ask us to correct any information that is wrong or out of date
• Ask us to delete your information (subject to legal retention obligations)
• Make a complaint about how we have handled your information

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification, and disclosure. The website uses HTTPS encryption end to end, the lead form is rate-limited and bot-protected, and admin access is gated by Cloudflare Access with multi-factor authentication.

Updates to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be flagged on the website.
